While on the hunt for a silver fir, the Tree of the Year 2015, I came across one in the garden of an acquaintance. She had planted a live Christmas tree in her garden some years previously. In the meantime, it has grown to an impressive height of 10 metres.
At the edge of the woods, I discovered a hidden fir tree. It had definitely grown on its own and had not been planted.
Happiness: On the same day I received an e-mail from my sister with pictures of beautiful, world-wide splendid specimens of ancient, robust, healthy, rare and cultured trees. My extended family is also interested in nature protection and keeps me informed of special events and things of natural beauty.
